About Dr. Udyan Arya

Sanskrit Scholar · Educationist · Principal, Guru Virjanand Gurukul Mahavidyalaya · Founder & Director, Vedic Vivaha

Biography

Dr. Udyan Arya holds an M.Phil and a Ph.D. from Panjab University, and has spent his career bringing Vedic philosophy and Sanskrit learning into everyday, practical life. He serves as Principal of Guru Virjanand Gurukul Mahavidyalaya, Kartarpur, and has also held leadership roles at the Chandigarh Sanskrit Academy. Alongside his academic work, he is the founder and director of Vedic Vivaha, an initiative that revives traditional Vedic marriage rituals and family-life guidance for the modern world.

His scholarship spans Vedic linguistics, astrology, and the role of Sanskrit in shaping human consciousness. He has written and published in respected journals — including VishwaSanskritam, Prachyavidyanusandhanam, and Vedanjali — on subjects such as the place of women in ancient Vedic society, methods of Vedic interpretation, and the relevance of Vedic practice today. In 2023 he was invited to speak at the International Philosophy Congress Summit in Rome, taking Indian Vedic thought to a global academic stage.

Teaching Philosophy

Dr. Arya's approach blends the discipline of Vedic scholarship with practical, everyday guidance — whether he is teaching a classroom of Sanskrit students or running a stress-management workshop for working professionals. He believes education should build character and inner balance as much as it builds knowledge, and has personally conducted over 1,000 workshops on mental well-being, stress management, and Vedic-inspired approaches to healthy relationships and family life.

Mission & Vision

His mission is to preserve and pass on authentic Vedic knowledge — not as an archived tradition, but as a living, practical resource for modern life: for students preparing for exams, couples building a marriage, and communities looking to reconnect with dharma-rooted living.

Values & Recognition

Dr. Arya's contributions to education and society have been recognised with several honours, including the National Appreciation Award for Best Principal from the World Council of Arya Samaj (2018), the Best Principal Award from Vedic Mission Mumbai (2019), the Best Principal Award from Lions Club Kartarpur (2016), the Corona Warriors Award from Adyatampath Patrika (2020), and recognition from the District Administration, Jalandhar, for his social contributions.
